Got the rear firewall/bulkhead in place, and everything painted up. Also trimmed up and cleaned the rear bumper and put that back on.
Cleaned up the rear quarters and riveted those back on the car. Gettin close!
Put in some time on the SR car the other day…
Got the catch can mounted up in the car, nice and out of the way.
Then I took the front end off so I could finish cleaning up all the pieces that we made for the new setup.
And I finished up the new firewall for the rear of the car. After I cut all the bent up and useless metal, I needed to make something to replace it.
I had some really high hopes for Las Vegas this year, we made some minor changes to the car to get some more speed so I could not wait to get it on the track. We got a chance to test the car out the weekend before and it felt great! It was the first time we had run our car outside of competition in a very long time. With the tandem battles getting so competitive this year our team was doing our best to keep up with everyone. When we got to the track we noticed that Formula Drift was running a new course. It seemed much more suited for great tandem so we had a really good feeling about the weekend.
So we got to take the car out for a few laps yesterday! It was really exciting to get to drive the car outside of Formula Drift. JTP was out at the track as well shaking down his RX8. Kevin and Sergio did a great job at “fine tuning” the car over [...]
Sorry for the lack of postings in the past weeks… For those that did not know, I got to go on a 4300 mile cross country motorcycle trip! It was absolutely incredible. There is more to our country than most will ever know, especially if you never stray from the interstates!
