Chile Drift Demo
December 10th, 2009 by Chris ForsbergWell I finally got back from Chile and it took me a day or so to get my timezones all back to normal. I downloaded the pics from my camera and went through and picked some highlights…
Breakfast from the hotel. It was actually really good, and I literally ate this combo every morning, haha.

The Apex FD was having a lot of issues the first day or two that we were there. I was probably the only guy who knew anything about rotary engines so I was helping out as best that I could. It took all the mechanics to troubleshoot this car to find out what had gone wrong. An intermittent primary injector was spraying when we pulled the fuel rail, but apparently cutting out just enough during idle/reving for it to run off one rotor. Everyone worked hard on fixing the car and we got it back out on the track in the afternoon on day 2.

This was the compression gauge they gave me to check to see if the motor was ok… it was real confusing!

Miki got a lil excited after the car was running and dragged the bumper along the wall in one of his earlier runs. Couple zipties got it back together.

We got a great response from the crowd in Chile! They were very excited to have us come down and put on a show for them. Many of the fans already knew all about our cars and Formula Drift.

Some of the fans even made their RC drift cars after ours!

Look at those stands!

After the demo was over, we started packing up our cars and tires… Check out this forklift with a license plate on it!

Last day in Chile…
We walked across the street from our hotel to the driving range to knock a few balls out. It was a nice change of pace, and it also reminded me of how bad my swing is.

Apparently George Costanza is running for president…

THANKS TO EVERYONE AT RPM MOTORSPORTS AND TO ALL THE DRIVERS AND TEAMS FOR AN AWESOME WEEKEND!
