Some of you may or may not have seen that recently I built a brand new Nissan 370Z to giveaway to a lucky winner. The contest was held at E3 just a few days ago, and I was sworn to secrecy while building the car. It was supposed to be a big surprise to the contestants that thought they were just winning a trip to the E3 convention. Essentially five contests winners would receive an all expense paid trip to E3, upon arrival they would learn that they were going to compete against each other on a Need for Speed SHIFT simulator to win the Nissan! This way there was no time for anyone to practice and have an advantage in the competition.
The car started off like this… I purchased it brand new from Connell Nissan in Costa Mesa, Ca.
I then started to put together my parts list of what I would want to put onto a daily driven 370Z. I came up with the following parts…
SSR Type F rims
Maxxis MA-Z1 Tires
Seibon GTR Style Carbon Fiber Hood
Seibon Carbon Fiber kit
Tanabe Suspension
K&N Typhoon Dual Intake Kit
Stainless Exhaust
Clarion VX400 Touch Screen Multimedia Source Unit
Mishimoto Radiator
I later found out that Mishimoto’s radiator was not yet available so I had to go ahead with the build without it. I started with installing the K&N Typhoon Dual Intake Kit. The kit went in very easily and even comes with heat shields to help keep the heat from the exhaust to be pulled back through the engine.
I then made this stainless steel exhaust for the car so that it had a lil custom touch to it. I wanted to give it a creative look, yet retain the factory dual exhaust.
The car was then sent out to Sam’s Auto Land to receive its Loaded Cherry paint job. All the lights, emblems, and bumpers were pulled to get a factory like paint job on the new car.
When I picked up the car it looked amazing! Here you can see the new paint along with the Seibon GTR Carbon Fiber hood that was installed as soon as the car returned to the shop.
I then continued with installing the rest of the Seibon Carbon Fiber parts, I picked out an entire kit that included front lip spoiler, side skirts, and rear canards.
I then moved into the interior to give the new owner a state of the art source unit. I went with Clarion’s new VX400. It is a full touch screen multimedia unit that can do just about anything! The full screen really fills up the dash nicely and will allow for easy navigation through menus.
After the new stereo was all wired up I went on to finish up the exterior with a new suspension from Tanabe to give the car a much more aggressive stance without making it too low to be undriveable. The wheels I went with was the SSR Type F, these are the same rims that I run on my competition car! They are super lightweight and the gold color looks really nice on the new Loaded Cherry paint job. I also went with Maxxis’ MA-Z1 tires all around which are wider and have much more grip than the factory setup. Also a lil yellow vinyl to go with the new can’s color scheme.
Here’s a nice shot of the Seibon Carbon rear canard and the new SSR Type F’s with Maxxis tires.
After all the work was done I delivered the car to the Los Angeles Convention Center. NOS Energy Drink had the best spot in the house! Front and center right at the entrance. The car could be seen anywhere in the front lobby with all the stairs and escalators pointing directly towards the NOS booth.
Here you can see the placement of the NOS Energy Drink Loaded Cherry 370Z in the convention center, you can also see my custom exhaust back there.
As the convention started, the car was an immediate hit! Everyone was stopping by the booth to check out the car and find out what it was doing there. Once NOS made the announcement that the car was to be given away to one of the five contestants, everyone was very impressed! You could actually win a real car by racing on a video game!

I saw that at E3 with the CFR stickers on it and wondered what the back story was. Looks good.

That car was sick to begin with & the end result looks awesome. I can only imagine the look on the winners face. Nice job.
Omg I wish I were there :/
Not only can you drive but you haven’t lost your creative self or design engineering…..amazing
